Not that easy

I was walking through the store with my sister the other day, and we came across hula hoops. My 2.5 yr old niece was with us so I thought it would be the fun to show her how to do it.

Lets just say it's not as easy and I remembered from when I was younger. Maybe I can't move my hips that fast... I'm just not sure. I was then told, by my sister, that you can burn 200 calories for hooping just 15min... sounded to good to be true. (This could be what I need to burn the extra 4lbs of baby weight)

Well, I am the proud owner of a new hula hoop and after a few tries, I have gotten the hang of it again. I think I could be on to something... stay tuned for the next craze of workout videos.

p.s. and yes, I did make Eric try it and he was not half bad!

Since we moved in over 6mo ago we wanted to do some remodel work to the kitchen. It wasn't a big job, just included taking out some cabinets between the kitchen and dining room to open it up. Now that the work is done, it makes the kitchen look so bright and spacious. Here are some before and after pics for ya.

We hired someone to have the cabinets taken out, but Eric fixed the plaster and painted. I must say they all did a great job

I am happy to announce Abby has her 1st tooth!! She has been acting fine, just a little more spit than usual. Hopefully this will be a trend for the other teeth that follow.

One with Nature

With this streak of awesome weather, we need to take full advantage of it while we can. After lunch today we packed up Abby and her stroller and headed for the local nature trail for a nice walk and snake catching .. not me, Eric. Never knew we were outside... slept the whole time

Just Add Water

We were out and about enjoying this great weather (inside shopping) and came across something that we (I) HAD to have... well Abby had to have it for the pool this summer. It was so cute I couldn't wait to get home, blow it up, and stick her in it. Abby did not share the same thoughts as I did.

Little Peanut

I have been looking for a high chair for the last few weeks, and now with her eating baby food it has become a necessity (see prior post). Many of you know that I am a big fan of a certain website that you can buy and sell on, so that is the 1st place I looked. Well I found one worth looking at and took a drive to the east side.. it turned out to be just what I was looking for.

For now we will have to feed her with the tray off... I think I need to stick a phone book under her so she can see over the tray.

And the winner is... sweet potatoes! Today we took it a step beyond the cereal and tried the sweet potatoes, and what a hit that was. The first bite I got the "what are you doing to me" face but the second mouth full was quick to follow and that went down smooth. I was seeing how well Abby liked them, and was tempted to sneak a bite and try it for myself.. but didn't, I will trust that they taste as good as they look.. jk.. (yuck) Mealtime ended when she decided that is was time to work on her new trick of spitting... and the mouthful I just gave her was now all over in a nice sprayed format.

I think that it's time to invest in a high chair.. the bouncy seat is not cutting it for mealtime.

I hope this all washes out, I guess that is why they make stain sticks.
