Good Genes

Every parent wants to pass along their 'good' genes to their offspring. It might be smarts, looks, or talent just to name a few. One of the things I was hoping to pass along was my dark, thick straight hair. When Abby was born, I knew that she has her dads hair. The little hair she had was, and still is, very curly. Megan was born with very dark thick hair. Now it's light and not growing at the rapid speed I hoped for.

Anyway, Abby LOVES gum, want to chew it all.the.time. Today when we were in the car on the way home, she yells 'look it mom, gum in my hair!!!! I turned around to see a green glob resting front and center in her light locks. This is not how I planned my child's first hair cut.

Knowing that she is in trouble.

Winter x2

Abby and I had a chance this evening to spend some time playing in all the new snow.
One of Abby's favorite things, the swing. It doesn't matter if it's summer or winter.

Winter

Eric and Abby hit the hills this past weekend at a friends B-day party. I had to stay home and wipe snot... seems like I've been doing that all winter with the kids.
Abby was so excited when she got home. She had to tell me all about the sledding, the pizza, and all the dogs that were there. Her favorite part was being licked by the big green dog. Note: she is still working on her colors.

Seafood

Do you remember playing the game of seafood with your siblings? You open your mouth with chewed up food to gross out the person across the table. I guess my kids are starting this at a very young age.

Nine

Megan turned 9months this past week!
Her stats:

Weight 17.4 20%

Height 28in 63%

Head 44cm 49%

I can't believe her next Dr. visit will be for her 1 year checkup!! Some fun facts about our little Megan.
* She wears 9-12month clothing
* She has 2 teeth on the bottom, and no signs there will be others to follow.
* Loves to smile and laugh all the time, but we still call her mad Meggie
* Since her ear infection a few months back, she now has the habit of holding her ears all the time.
* Her bedtime is 8pm sharp. She sleeps till 6am, feeds then sleeps again till 9am. She will then take a 3+ hour nap in the afternoon.
* Sleeps only on her stomach, since birth.
* Just learned how to wave bye-bye and clap her hands.
* She loves to watch her older sister Abby run and jump, and wants to play with her toys... Abby is not good at sharing yet so this gets ugly real quick.
* Megan just started to like her bath time, only because she can splash water everywhere!
* She sits alone and arm crawls and always prefers to be on her stomach to play.
* Loves the baby oatmeal and fruit. Does not like the jarred baby meals or veggies. She is really good at self feeding, always a plus in my book!
*Still will not drink from a sip cup, or from a straw. Only wants her mama. We have long given up on the bottle.
*I have never liked nicknames, but for some reason Megan has many. Her nicknames: Meg, Meggie, Meggers, Maggie, Mia, MyMy, Millie, punkapoo. I am sure there are more.
Megan is such a joy, and a wonderful addition to our family. I look forward to seeing how she will change, grow, and develop in the next 3 months.

Worst Time

I am not alone when I say the the worst time of day is after naps until the the hubby gets home from work. It seems everyday the kids wake up cranky, hungry and just want attention. So, being the good mother I am, stick on a video, feed them crackers and hope they are quiet just long enough so I can make dinner.

Snow Day

Most Fridays you can find me, my sisters and the kids over at my parents house. We head over there just after the kids wake up, stay for lunch and then 'usually' head home mid afternoon for nap time. Today was no different, except today my dad aka Papa took everyone sledding behind the 4-wheeler. The kids had a great time, and thanks to my mom for staying in the house with Megan and Chase so us big kids could get in on the fun.
Jackie and Audra on the sled, and Eli with papa on the 4-wheeler.
