Birthday Girl

Megan Mae turned ONE year old on April 15. We had one party thus far with my family, and plan another with Eric's this weekend. I can't believe how fast this first year went, but really look forward to this next year when she starts to talk/walk and 'play' with her sister. Megan is such a good baby, eats everything, wants whatever her sister has, and still sleep ALL THE TIME!Very excited about her new keyboard

Easter

I am more that a couple days late with this post, but still wanted to include it on the blog.

Saturday afternoon a few friends gathered at the Johnson's house for an egg hunt. We dropped off our filled eggs earlier in the week so they would be hidden, ready for the kids. The weather was pretty nasty, cold and rainy but despite that the kids and parents had a great time. Abby came home with a basket FULL of eggs filled with candy, trinkets, and $$.

Most of the gang getting some quick instructions before heading out in search of eggs.

Sunday morning I went solo to the Easter Service at Church to celebrate our risen Savior. Abby had a touch of sickness and didn't want to spread it like wildfire among the nursery. That afternoon we headed over to my parents, along with my grandparent and siblings for dinner.

Part 2

Friday PM after shopping for the boots. We headed straight downtown Nashville to eat dinner at The Big River, a brewery with great food.

Both Eric and I were looking forward to the night life of Nashville so we waisted no time. Our first stop was BB Kings. We had gotten free passes so that was a must to checkout. The band there and every other stop was just AWESOME. Next stop was Roberts, then we headed over to the Wild Horse, followed by The Stage and ended at Tootsies Orchid Lounge. Each place was so much fun, packed FULL of people with LOUD original music.
BB Kings, the band came out and played right in front of us.

The lower level of Tootsies. Almost every place we stopped, we ended up having great 'seats'.

The next morning we ate an early breakfast and hit the road, heading north to Edinburgh, IN. There was a huge outlet mall I had spotted on the ride down south so we decided to spend most of the day Saturday there and spend the night. There were mostly 'chain' restaurants around the hotel so we ate dinner at Ruby Tuesdays, which was OK.

Sunday morning we finally had a chance to sleep in and relax at the hotel before taking off for home. We wanted to eat at the PF Chang's (our fav) in Indianapolis for lunch. We timed our arrival when they opened at 11am so we still had time to hit another outlet mall in Fremont, IN before arriving home.

We both had a great trip that went way to fast. We hope to someday make it back down there and do it again. Thanks again to our parents for watching the girls!

Nashville, TN part 1

After stuffing ourselves at the breakfast buffet Friday morning, we headed downtown for a little shopping. Eric was searching for a new pair of cowboy boots and what better place than Nashville ?? After about an hour and a half of trying on boots from store to store with no luck, we called it quits for the morning.

We headed over to Brentwood a few miles away to meet Les Neniow and Susan Hicks from Dave Ramsey's office for lunch. Susan suggested this GREAT place just a few miles away called Puckett's Groc. and Restaurant. It was such a lively place, with the best food and a southern feel.
After lunch both suggested we go and tour the Opryland Hotel, which was once the largest hotel every built. It was located next to the Grand Ole Opry, and a mall, sounded good to me!
Once we paid the $18 for parking at the Gaylord Hotel, also known as the Opryland Hotel. we headed inside to one of the MANY beautiful layouts. This hotel was HUGE, there were about 4 different areas all connected by long hallways full of lush green plants and trees. A couple of the sections were laid out like small towns, full of little shopping places. There were restaurants, bars, you name it, it was there. Such an awesome place to see.
After we left the hotel, we hit the mall for a few minutes, then drove past the Grand Ole Opry. Neither Eric or I had a strong desire to stop, so this pictures is all we have from there.

I have no idea why 3 pictures showed up?? I am working on taking 2 out...it could be awhile.

After completing our drive by nickle tour of The Grand Ole Opry we headed out to continue or quest for new boots. We landed at a huge western store and after a few misses found a great new pair!
