Family Vacation

Last week Eric, myself and the girls headed out on our first family vacation. It was a 2 day trip, Thursday and Friday, and we had a great time with just us.

Thursday we left home after breakfast and heading to Southfield near Detroit and stayed at a Holiday Inn. It was rainy so we knew that Thursday would be devoted to spending some time in the pool. Abby asks everyday to go swimming, so we knew should would be excited. Upon our arrival, just after lunch, Eric and Abby changed and headed down to check out the pool area while I hung out in the room thinking that Megan would want to take a nap. She didn't.
For dinner we ordered Jets Pizza, then went back down to the pool/hot tub with the girls. They both had a great time playing in the water.

I was really glad that we were staying in a suite so the girls could crash early and Eric and I able to hang out and enjoy some quite time.

Friday morning, we heading out early to spend the day at Detroit Zoo. After having a few days of rainy weather, I think everyone else in the surrounding area thought the same thing. The weather was just perfect, and the girls loved every minute. Megan sat perfect and content in the stroller all day, and Abby did great walking around looking at all the animal exhibits. Some of our favorites were the butterfly garden, penguins, and of course the polar bear exhibit.
