Up Up and Away

So, I don't know if it's just me or if other mothers want their child up and walking asap. I have been encouraging Abby to pull herself up and walk holding my fingers for a while now.

Over the last few weeks she has mastered the pulling up part and is now venturing beyond her comfort zone and moving around the furniture (very little, but still moving).

One night this weekend we put Abby to bed as normal, she likes to "play and talk" for a while before she falls asleep, no big deal right? Well this night she did her thing, then all was quite. About 30 min later she let out a little cry and went back to sleep. This continued a few times and I thought I should check it out, maybe her leg was stuck between the bars. I walked in and about fell over, it was scary and funny I didn't know what to do first, of course I laughed and went to get Eric and showed him. There was little Abby standing with her head resting on the rail of the crib sleeping.

The next day of course we lowered the mattress, but that still doesn't stop her from trying to escape.

Determination

This is as low as it goes... what have I done?!?!

Millennium Park

Yesterday a few of us packed the kids and a lunch and took a trip to Millennium Park for the day. I'm sure most have been there by now, but for those who have not yet made it, it's a must!

There is a great clean beach with shallow water, and that equals warm water (my fav!), slash pad which was so fun (not just for kids) food, playground and more! I cant say enough about it and will definitely be back again there this year.

Horse Play

Last week was another week of camping for my sister and I and the 2 girls as we attended the church camp out at Cran-Hill Ranch.

I can remember my parents taking us every year when we were kids and having so much fun, there are so many different activities for every age group.

Everyday turned out nice and sunny and not too hot making it the perfect camping weather.

Here are some highlights from this past week

5. Nice sunny weather so we could go to the beach and not be stuck in the trailer with 2 kids under the age of 3

4. Taking long walks and being outside

3. Going to the barn store for a candy bar everyday

1. Meeting new people from church and hanging with friends

There were so many other highlights from the trip, I already look forward to going again next year.

One nice horse that we pet on our stay at the ranch. This was one of my highlights of the week, not petting the horse but watching my sister Jackie get hit with the 220 electric fence- sick I know but it was payback for all the nasty things she ever did to me.

Off Road

One thing I look forward to every summer is going 4 wheeling. This week Eric is off from work so we were able to take a day trip to Baldwin to do a little riding.
It was the perfect day to go riding, hot and sunny with plenty of mud to cool you down. I did have a chance to try out Erics new dirt bike, I will stick to 4 wheels... 2 wheels in sand, not my thing.

Gone Fishin'

While I was camping last week with my mom, sisters and the kids, Eric went camping with my dad, uncles, and cousins at a lake called Dubenett. From the pictures I was able to wrangle away, I see there was a little fishing, eating and game playing. When I say a "little fishing" I really mean that... I'm not sure if they even brought poles.

This is the island that they commute to. Every year they go fishing, I think they spend more time in their chairs here than on the boats fishing.

Rain Rain Go Away

Last week myself, sister Jackie and our girls went camping for the week in Holland. The mornings would start out cold and rainy so we would run to the outlet mall, Old Navy, Walmart, anything that would pass the time, oh how well that worked out! By the time nap time rolled around the sun came out and it warmed up enough to take off the sweatshirts. I didn't perfect my tan this week but it was nice to hang with the fam (My mom and younger sister came out for the last part of the week). Audra lovin the "Underdogs" Abby lovin the Ice cream

Beach Bums

On the move

Now that Abby is on the move, I am not able to turn my head very long or she will be gone. The other day I had to get something from downstairs and when I came back this is where she ended up.

She was very determined to get a ball that had rolled under her exersaucer

Once the ball was retrieved, she wanted out in a bad way..

I guess it is time to put up the baby gate
